Brief Description: For this assignment, I chose a multicultural book called Possum Magic
written by Mem Fox and make lesson plan for 4th grade along with Indiana Academic Standards.
The lesson plans also apply to all the subjects areas with interesting activities and accurately
academic perspectives.

Rationale: To document my understanding of Standard #5, Application of Contents, I selected to

include my Thematic Unit because teachers need to understand how important it is to apply all
the knowledge in every units and perspectives of their lesson plans to meet the needs of all the
students in the classroom.
