1.PURPOSE
To ensure that installation of Electrical Conduiting Concealed within the wall are
executed safely and in accordance with the contract requirements and that all
quality assurance / control activities required for the same are conducted in a
systematic manner, works are inspected and conformance is verified and
documented.
2.SCOPE OF WORKS/METHOD
2.1 This procedure is applicable to the following works associated with the project
titled 72 GALLERY TOWNHOUSES PHASE 2 IN DUBAI SPORTS CITY

Tool box talk has to be conducted all the hazards have to be identified before
starting the work.
Personnel Protective Equipments (PPE) to be worn by the Task force during
execution at site.
Clear the obstructions from the surrounding area to avoid Near misses and
accidents.
Manufacturers recommendation has to be followed on health and safety if
applicable.
Any Process adopted and may have a particular safety risk will be assessed
and addressed as required.
RESPONSIBILITIES
6.1
Project Engineer
To be the focal point for interfaces and other communications with the
ENGINEER and Contractors as required during execution of work.
He shall ensure that adequate quality measures are being undertaken.
He shall ensure that the proper tools and tackles are available for the timely
completion of the job in a quality manner.

He shall ensure all inspection are conducted as per the contract specifications
and ITPs. To ensure all inspections, proper tools & tackles and manpower are
used at all stages of work. To ensure all current issues of procedures,
Approved Material and shop drawings and standards are available at the
point of use. He should also ensure the works complies with the contract
requirements / approved shop drawings. He shall be responsible for the total
quality control for installation work. He shall liaise with ENGINEER for
inspection of installations works.
inspect the same work prior to initiate ITR for ENGINEER approval.
Maintain
Reviews the Method Statement before starting the work, explains the same
to the subordinates and prepares program for the daily job. Aware of all code
of practices, Standards & Specifications and HSE plan and to appreciate the
workforce to perform a time bound and quality job.
He shall originate ITR for completed installation works and companies.
6.3
PROCEDURE
7.1
Equipments:
Standard Tools - Grinding machine, Chisel, Hammer, Hack saw, File, etc.
7.2
Handling
During transportation pipes must not be handled roughly. This is particularly
so when they are in contact with hard surfaces. Dropping from a height or

dragging them from one place to another may damage the pipes and make
them unsuitable for use, particularly when the pipe ends have already been
prepared for installation.
Use improper machinery / handing equipment for lifting or moving pipes must
be avoided at all times.
Where mechanical handling equipment is used, it should be insured that any
metallic implements do not come in direct contact with the pipes. Fibrous
material like ropes and web slings are ideal for such purposes, as they will
not damage the pipe walls. Before installations, pipes and fittings should be
minutely examined for any structural damage.
7.3
Transportation:
The transporting vehicle must ideally have a flat bed, free for any rough
surfaces or corrugation.
Overhanging of pipes from bed of the transporting vehicle must not exceed 1
meter, must be evenly supported and should be loaded with sockets aligned
at alternate ends. Heavier and large pipes must always be loaded first, with
proper side supports.
7.4
Storage
Pipe should be stacked on a flat base or level ground. Pipe stack should
contain one size diameter only. If this is not possible the largest diameter
should be sheeted with an opaque material.
The pipes should not be in direct expose of the sunlight to avoid ultraviolet
Site Work:
7.5.1
Check that the Shop Drawings are approved and available at site.
Check the materials and confirm all items with the Material Approval.
Mark on the wall at proper location to place the conduit.
Cut and chase the wall. Cutting to be done with the grinder.
Place the conduits as per the requirement.
Tight the conduit to avoid any damage.

QA/QC PROCEDURE
All inspection / Testing as defined in related Inspection and Test Plan (ITP) shall
be conducted. Related check sheets shall be completed.
