Michael, Gladys. "Symphony Gets Life When H. Arthur Brown Appears." El Paso Herald Post 17
Apr. 1968: n. pag. Print.
The article by Gladys Michael reminded me about H. Arthur Brown and of the 1900s. One
of the interesting facts I found out about the EPSOs concerts was that the seats only cost
from 25-50 cents. I also couldnt believe that they were called El Paso Philharmonic
Orchestra in 1921-22 Anton Navaratil. Although I learned a lot, I still wonder why El
Pasoans were so uninterested in the symphony orchestra at the beginning. I question this
because that was the reason that the EPSO disbanded so many times. Overall, I found this
article interesting and detailed because it has a lot of good information on the EPSO.

The article by EPSO reminded me about symphony concerts and of the beginning of El
Paso. One of the interesting facts I found out about the EPSO was that they received
national and international recognition because of their success. I also couldnt believe that
they went on tours to Turkey and Germany in 1996. Although I learned a lot, I still wonder
what auditoriums they played in. I question this because I would like to know where they
performed. Overall, I found this article helpful because it informed me about the EPSO.
Luther, Betty. "Emily Hardy to Be Heard in Symphony's 'Best Season'" El Paso Herald Post n.d.: n.
pag. Print.
The article by Betty Luther reminded me about orchestra concerts and solos and soloists.
One of the interesting facts I found out about the EPSO concerts was that they featured a
lot of singers. I also couldnt believe that they also featured pianists. Although I learned a
lot, I still wonder if they featured others in their concerts. I question this because the article
only mentions singers and pianists. Overall, I found this article interesting because it talks
about the EPSO concerts.
Michael, Gladys. "Dorrance D. Roderick Was Star Guest Soloist in 1931 Symphony Concert." El
Paso Herald Post 18 Apr. 1968: n. pag. Print.
The article by Gladys Michael reminded me about the El Paso Symphony Association and
of the rising in popularity of the EPSO back then. One of the interesting things I found out
about the EPSO was that Julliard stopped supporting them after 7 years. I also couldnt
believe that they had 65 members in 1932. Although I learned a lot, I still wonder if there
were still many people that were uninterested in the EPSO. I question this because they
were mostly just rising in popularity but there couldve still been people that didnt like it.
Overall, I found this article very helpful because it was full of good information.
Zamora, Elizabeth. "EPSO." E-mail interview. 21 Mar. 2016
The interview with Elizabeth Zamora reminded me about orchestra conductors and music.
One of the interesting things I found out about the EPSO was the specific order of the
conductors of the symphony orchestra. I also couldnt believe that there are about 70
members of the orchestra and that some of them have been members for about 30 or 40
years. Although I learned a lot, I still wonder if they have always played the same type of
music. Overall, I found this interview informative and useful.
started it. I question this because the real founder was Frederick r. Koch. Overall, I found
this article to be a great resource and very helpful because it contained a lot of detail.

The article by the Volunteer Action Center reminded me about playing the violin and of the
WMS orchestra. One of the interesting facts I found out about the El Paso Symphony
Orchestra was that it was firmly established by 1931. I also couldnt believe that their first
concert was in the Scottish Rite Auditorium. Although I learned a lot, I still wonder who
the first members of the orchestra were. I question this because there is no specific
information on that. Overall, I found this article informative and short.
