We will draw a map and plot directions using and
turns.

PHYSICAL

We will use our knowledge about shapes to create

repeating patterns.

Dance !
In dance, we will listen to and freely respond to a
range of music.!
Gymnastics!
Develop balance, agility and coordination through a
range of gymnastic activities.!

CREATIVE

Music
We will explore music through the exciting world of
Charanga, which uses songs, games and quizzes to
help us learn lots of different styles of music and a
wide range of songs and tunes.

Grace Darling and Florence Nightingale: a

comparison of the lives of the 2 women and the
struggles they faced.
The Great Fire of London: focus on efforts to stop
and changes made to stop it happening again.
The Reign of Queen Victoria: focus on the changes
she made to improve the lives of her subjects.
Geography
We will learn about the 4 seasons and create a class
display that will change with each season.

We will look at a range of circle time activities and

topics taught through puppets and games.

Shape
We will name and sort a box of 2D and 3D shapes
sent in by the Director according to their properties.

History
This half term our history will be split up into 3
sections labelled Heroes of the Past. They are as
follows:

MATHS

Recounts
We will learn what a recount is and what makes it
different to a story. We will write a recount of A day
in the life of us using what we have learned.

UNDERSTANDING
THE WORLD

ENGLISH

Story Language
We will look at the story language of a range of
stories and how it makes them different/similar to
one another. We will then look in particular at the
beginning and endings of stories and discuss their
features.
We will use our knowledge to re-write the beginning
and ending of a story to make it more interesting.

Computing
We will use the programme Bee Bot to help us with
our learning in maths position and directions.
French
We will learn range of French words and phrases
linking to a topic to be taught through songs and
games.
RE
We will learn about Christianity and why Christians
have their beliefs. We will learn why Christmas is
important to Christians.
