766 Alignment Chart

Kelly Thorell

Below I have included my alignment chart that has established terminal and
enabling objectives for training behavioral therapists to demonstrate the
principals of discrete trial therapy, mass trials and expanded trials. The
purpose of the alignment chart is to establish what the trainees will need to
know when working with a client and teaching new items, how will they be
assessed on these objectives and what type of activities will be created to
get them there. The alignment chart is created to establish a visual guide to
show how the objectives will be achieved.
Problem Identification:
Early intensive behavioral therapy organization for children with Autism
needs to find a more efficient way to streamline and organize their training
of new behavioral therapists. The current process is time consuming,
unorganized and inconsistent. The solution is to reorganize, revamp, and
develop new tools for the trainees and trainers to use to restructure the
process. Trainees will have access to more support strategies, clearly defined
expectations and a cohesive training process.
Delivery options:
Instruction will be blended using videos demonstrating various components
of discrete trial therapy, face to face lectures using Power Point presentations
to teach procedures which will give critical information to the training
process. Role play exercises will be used so trainees can demonstrate skills
they have acquired and one-on-one training with a client and a trainer to
apply these skills.

Terminal Objective: The trainee will demonstrate principles of discrete trial

therapy with a client and trainer.
