Assessment Questions:

Kelly Thorell
Project Description: Training behavioral therapist how to teach discrete trial to
clients. I work at a company that provides ABA services to children with Autism. We
are constantly hiring new behavioral therapists and our current training process is
time consuming and not as streamlined as we hope it to be. The end goal for my
project is to revamp the whole training process and fix some of these issues. This
terminal goal addresses a part of our teaching sequence called mass trials and
expansion, this process is used when introducing a new target (e.g., an object labelCat). The enabling goals are the specific requirements that are a necessary part
of this teaching process.

Terminal Objective: The trainee will demonstrate the steps of mass trials and
expansion when introducing a new target to the client.
Enabling objectives:

The trainee will start off each sitting with two mastered items and continue
where they last left off in the second sitting.

When introducing a new target, the trainee will Probe the target two times
before teaching the item or moving on to the next target.

When in the mass trial phase, the trainee will prompt the correct response a
minimum of two times before requiring an independent response.

The trainee will use expanded trials after the mass trial phase.

If the client gives two incorrect responses during the expansion process, the
trainee will go back to the mass trial phase.
