MLK Summary Essay
Several decades ago Mr. Luther King Junior took place in front of millions to make a
claim about a promise made by our founding fathers. Martin Luther Kings claim was meant for
the minorities, it was to bring back what is called our lost forgotten rights. Martin Luther King
took place to give his speech about our rights which are known as, Life, Liberty, and Pursuit of
happiness. Martin Luther King wished to restore these rights to our forgotten America to make
all things equal.
Mr. King was best remembered for all the mighty courage and passion he was trying to
influence on the people of that day when he gave his speech. He set great influence to bring back
the rights for those lost forgotten souls who were normal citizens just trying to make a living.
These people went through harsh living because of their skin color and their own cultural ways.
This group of people fought for what they believed in, they had no rights at the time because all
theyre rights were taken away and forgotten by the seniorities. Martin Luther puts his voice to
speak out for the rights of all these forgotten individuals because all men and women are created
equal with their certain unalienable rights.
Martin Luthers voice went out to those who were well known and forgotten, who were
segregated, treated like slaves, hurt, beaten, who were put to jail because of unjust laws, faced

hatred, were prayed upon, couldnt do certain activities, had unfair jobs, and opportunities. These
people eventually stood up to fight back for what they wanted. They got through the pain and
tortures because they abided by the fact that freedom was not given, it was earned through
struggle, discipline, persistence, and faith. These minorities took this challenge to overcome this
evil and hatred. Mr. Obama states, Because they kept Marching America became more free and
fair. This has truly set the tone for our new and greater America.
The greatest thing that happened to these people was that a civil law was finally passed
because of their courageous actions. They got their rights that they wanted. A voting rights law
was signed, doors of opportunity and education became open, civil councils changed, state
legislatures changed, congress changed, and the white house changed. These were all the
victories they had won.
That was the huge lesson of our past that MLK fought for. He helped fight for these
forgotten human rights. It comes to show that people who love their country can come together
and fight to make greater change. We live up to our own creed and fight for what we believe in.
Those rough patches have been fixed and our country has been straightened out. We sacrifice so
much as people for what we believe in and come together as one nation.
