The Amerindians are talented people. They are skilled in
producing a variety of craft items by using materials from the forest plants. They use the tibisiri, mucru, nibbi and awara straw to make hammocks, sifters, matapi, pieces of furniture and mats. They also use coloured beads from plants to make necklaces and armbands which they wear mainly on special occasions. They decorate their craft-work with these beads. Some of them also carve the trunks of trees to make ornaments. They use the bark and fruits of some trees to make a dye with which they colour their craft-work.
