Objective
Objective: To increase Daniels
participation in large group activities by
raising his hand to answer teacher directed
questions.

Reinforcement
Type: 1 ipad puzzle piece earned for
raising his hand to answer a question or
to participate. When Daniel receives 9
puzzle pieces he will earn 5 minutes of
ipad time.

Functional Routine: During large group


lessons or activities.

Program Steps

Error Correction

1. Daniel will be prompted at the beginning

of large group activities to answer


questions for the option to earn ipad
puzzle pieces.
2. For every time Daniel raises his hand he
will be given an ipad puzzle piece to put
onto his puzzle.
3. After 9 times participating and raising his
hand he will be given 5 minutes of ipad
time in the back of the room.
4. Daniel will remove the ipad puzzle
pieces and be reminded that he can earn
them again for participating.

Criteria for Moving to Next Step


When Daniel can earn ipad time during
M/LA 3 days we will cut the ipad puzzle
into more pieces for him to earn and
slowly phase it out as his reinforcement.
Prompt Strategy
When the teacher asks a question Daniel
will raise his hand to respond. After a
wait time of 20 seconds a teacher will
give a verbal prompt to answer the
question.
Eventually the verbal prompts will
decrease and then the reinforcement will
be faded back to allow Daniel to answer

Daniel can earn ipad multiple times each
day.
The timer must be used for successful
transition when his time on the ipad is
finished.
He should receive ipad pieces for any
positive behavior or choices at any point
in the day, not limited to only large
group participation.
Daniel gets to put the pieces on his
puzzle and take them off himself so he
has ownership of the reward.
