INTRODUCTION
Plant layout or design is a major tool to addressing process
bottlenecks and accelerating production.
The plant layout is important in most factory because it
control the production flow as well as the production
outcome.
In this project we design the production line for the printing
factory.
The printing factory is a publication printing operation that
focus on providing the printing of newspaper and books.

OBJECTIVE
To construct modelling system of production line
using Delmia Quest simulation software.
To design suitable production line for printing
factory.
To optimize the productivity for the printing
factory.

SCOPE OF WORK
The production process for the products is divided
into four production line. These stages will be
illustrated by the flowchart in the next slide.

Discussion
Two production line share the same machine. This is
proven in the blue section of the pie chart implying
blocking due to two production sharing one machine.
Suggested Improvement
To improve we can increase the source output.
Place buffer before the assembly machine
Group similar machine together to reduce cost

Conclusion
This production line still have room for
improvement. As the idle time is larger
than working time. Some suggestion have
been made to improve the line.
