success of this campaign is important to all of us. In the process of creating this
campaign we have learned an extensive amount about Parkinsons disease, and
have become committed to serving Oklahoma individuals with Parkinsons disease.
We believe in your mission, and we trust that this communication plan will aid with
your vision.
We have been fully committed to discovering the best path to making the Parkinsons
Care Unit a reality. We feel that promoting the Parkinsons Care Unit to Saint
Simeons using our campaign will create the momentum the unit needs. Our team
believes that once Saint Simeons understands the need and the opportunities
involved, they too will believe in your vision.

SAINT SIMEONS BRINGS FIRST SPECIALIZED PARKINSONS DISEASE CARE
UNIT TO TULSA
TULSA, OKLAHOMA (June 1, 2016) Local and state officials joined staff and development
sponsors of Saint Simeons Tulsa Senior Community to announce its plans to build an assisted
living community specially designed for residents living with Parkinsons disease.
Lindsay Hurley Fick, president and CEO of Saint Simeons, kicked off the ceremony by talking
about the impact this complex will have on the community.
Every individual deserves quality care, regardless of movement functioning level or cognitive
ability, Fick said. We will provide care for numerous people effected by Parkinsons disease,
not only in Tulsa, but for around the state.
Construction crews will begin building the unique community for residents with Parkinsons
disease on May 31, 2016.The specialized care unit will be located on 3701 Martin Luther King,
Jr. Blvd.
The Parkinsons disease care unit will consist of five home units, each 27,000 square feet,
connected by wide, well-lit pathways. Each home unit will have five to seven bedrooms, a living
room, dining area, a kitchen for supervised projects, and a 24-hour nurses aide station. The home
units will surround a large activity center that will provide room for inside and outside group
activities and visiting entertainment. The activity center will include Parkinsons disease
specialized therapy rooms, a gym, a swimming pool, a spa, grooming services, laundry services,
and professionally trained Registered Nurses, CNAs and Home Health Aides.
Saint Simeons ensures that all staff members have received the specialized training needed to
care for the distinctive patients. The Parkinsons Foundation of Oklahoma provides educational
programs on living with Parkinsons disease to staff, patients and family members at the care
unit.

SAINT SIMEONS PARKINSON CARE CENTER OPENS IN TULSA OKLAHOMA
TULSA, OKLAHOMA (June 1, 2017) The Parkinsons Care Center, the first care unit in
Oklahoma to focus on Parkinsons disease, has its grand opening at Saint Simeons Tulsas senior
community on Saturday, June 1st at 12 pm.
The opening will tour the Parkinsons Care Center and highlight the amenities and therapies
provided. The Parkinsons Care Center is a unique center that provides care in a home-like setting
for individuals suffering from Parkinsons disease. Some of the world-class amenities include: a
spa, medication assistance, dressing and grooming, full-laundry service, nursing care, and
religious services. The Parkinsons Care Center will also provide various specialized therapies
such as physical, speech, occupational, music and art therapy.
The center will be one of only a handful of Parkinsons care units throughout the United States.
There is a great need for this kind of unit and Oklahoma is the perfect centrally located fit; many
patients are thrilled for the addition.
It is going to be nice to have a specialized place where staff understand the struggles of
Parkinsons disease and can differentiate between Parkinsons disease and other medical issues,
a surveyed patient said.
The Parkinsons Foundation of Oklahoma has numerous followers and volunteers who are
excited about the care unit as well.
The care unit presents opportunities for others to serve the Parkinsons community on a
volunteer basis at a facility, a surveyed member said.
During the grand opening spectators may also peek into Saint Simeons other choices of care
including: independent cottage living, assisted living, Health Care Center, and the Memory
Center.
Saint Simeons is known as Tulsas Senior Community. In 1960, the foundation opened its first
unit, Saint Simeons Episcopal Home. Upon opening, the founders original vision was for Saint
Simeons was a home where physical, emotional and spiritual needs of its residents come first.
Since then, Saint Simeons has thrived as Tulsas Senior Community. Its success is due to the
seven values that the organization was built on: Integrity, dedication, compassion, accountability,
humility, respect, and patience. Saint Simeons mission is to be the preferred home for men and
women of all faiths who wish to live their later years in an environment with dignity,
individuality, and the highest attainable level of independence.
