To
Whom
It
May
Concern:
It
is
with
pleasure
that
I
write
this
letter
of
recommendation
for
Madison
Orendorf.
Madison
was
a
teacher
candidate
under
my
supervision
during
one
half
of
the
2016
Spring
semester
at
West
Chester
University
of
Pennsylvania.
During
this
period,
she
taught
Third
Grade
students
at
East
Ward
Elementary
School
in
Downingtown,
PA.
Madison
is
a
dual
major
(Early
Grade
Prep
and
Special
Ed)
and
is
completing
the
second
half
of
her
student
teaching
in
a
Learning
Support
Classroom
at
East
Ward
Elementary.
Madison
came
to
her
student
teaching
experience
with
a
rich
and
varied
background.
Prior
to
student
teaching,
she
had
many
opportunities
to
work
with
and
teach
students
during
field
study
experiences.
She
applied
the
information
she
learned
during
classes
at
West
Chester
University,
her
field
study
and
various
other
preparatory
experiences
to
make
her
student
teaching
experience
a
positive
and
beneficial
one
to
both
herself
and
the
students
with
whom
she
worked.
During
my
observations
of
Madison
and
through
her
participation
in
student
teaching
seminars,
she
demonstrated
a
passion
for
the
profession
and
a
sincere
interest
in
and
concern
for
her
students.
She
approached
any
and
all
aspects
of
the
work
involved
in
teaching
with
eager
anticipation
and
a
willingness
to
try
new
ideas.
Madison
demonstrates
the
following
on
a
consistent
basis;
Planning
and
Preparation:
Lesson
plans
were
well
written,
linked
to
standards
and
prepared
ahead.
Exhibited
knowledge
and
understanding
of
subject
matter,
curriculum
and
student
needs.
Developed
lessons
that
held
student
focus
and
interest,
engaged
all
students
and
made
the
learning
experience
a
positive
one.
Classroom
Environment
/
Instructional
Delivery:
Differentiated
instruction
Identified
clear
expectations
Constructed
creative
materials
and
activities
that
met
student
needs
and
learning
styles
Was
respected
as
an
authority
figure
by
her
students
Exhibited
successful
classroom
and
time
management
strategies
Integrated
technology
to
engage
students,
to
support
and
enhance
lessons
and
to
adjust
instruction
for
the
whole
class
or
individual
students
Her
students
demonstrated
excitement
about
learning
and
were
actively
engaged
Professionalism:
Worked
well
with
both
students
and
staff
Searched
for
ways
to
inspire
students
and
improve
her
own
practices
Always
sought
feedback
and
incorporated
suggestions
from
supervisors
Is
confident,
flexible,
set
goals
for
herself
and
her
students
and
was
always
well
prepared
After
evaluating
her
work,
observing
her
performance
in
the
classroom
and
supervising
her
teaching,
I
am
confident
that
Madison
will
do
an
outstanding
job
as
an
educator
and
become
an
asset
to
both
you
and
your
students.
