Reflection 4
On Wednesday, March 16, 2016, during teaching practice
when I was in the class with my mentor school teacher,
there was an active student during carpet time. He was so
excited to answer each question from the teacher while
morning time. The teacher asked the students to the date
and the weather and letter in the word of them. Also, he
shows a lovely way when he respects other students and
listens to their answers and he doesnt interrupt them
when he knows the answer. However if some students
dont know the answer he raises his hand to say the
answer. For me, the most meaningful learning was how
the teacher will reward that active student. At the time, I
knew that student is high level and the teacher will reward
him. In the end of the carpet time, the teacher gave a nice
sticker to the student who was active with her. Equally,
this could be explained by Skinner Watson theory.
Specifically, Skinner defines operant conditioning with
reinforcing stimulus in positive reinforcement. Moreover,
when the student got the sticker from the teacher that like
a positive reinforcement (reward). He will repeat that good
behavior or that condition. Having learned that theory I
now think it is so important to reward the students to
encourage them and to help their learning and to reinforce
their confidence or their feeling to share comfortably with
the teacher.
