Teacher Welcome Video:

January 29, this may have been my favorite assignment. The goal was to set up a
welcome back/open house lesson plan for my major. Since my major will not necessarily
involve public schooling I altered the lesson so that it was a 50% online technology
health course. That is actually something Id be interested to do once graduating, but the
bad thing about my major is that I wont receive my teaching certificate so I would have
to do it as an afterschool program.
Discussion Board 2 Using Technology in P.E.:
February 5, since I am young and have been exposed to technology while growing up I
agree technology should be used during P.E to regulate and enhance activities, not to
replace them.
Assistive Technology:
February 12, this assignment was one of the easiest because I am taking a SPED class
with Professor Cooper and the whole course revolved around individuals with disabilities
and AT devices. This project actually encouraged me look into equipment that could help
my grandma out. This project also made me realize how expensive some of these devices
range.Group Chat Literacy Instruction with Technology:
February 19, I was somewhat uneasy about the group chat because no one wanted to be
in charged and we couldnt find a time that suited everyone. I ended up doing it at work.
The readings were actually interesting,
Unit Modification:
March 4, I worked on this assignment the hardest. After seeing your notes I realize I need
to improve on clarity. When I submit assignments the way I do them is how I am thinking
and I have to work on being straightforward. Everything cant be implied
Discussion Board 3 - Edutainment:
March 11, after reading the article on Edutainment it make me look at technology in a
negative way. I still agree technology is need, but from the reading older educators feel
like technology is a distraction. I never saw it that way before, besides students having
their devices out in class when theyre not supposed to. I think its an insecurity issue,
these mature teachers may feel like technology can teach better than they can so they are
opposed of it. Maybe one day Ill feel that way when Im to the point when Im not up to
date with educational innovations.
QR Codes:
I always see QR codes and never really knew that they were used for, but the way
technology is evolving they will be needed for the younger population, as well, as people
who are always in a rush. I moat defiantly will incorporate QR codes into my materials,
especially health pamphlets that pertain to sexually transmitted illnesses.
NETS:
April 1, My favorite example for this assignment was # 2. I incorporated a science fair for
my grading rubric and I expected two requirements which were assistive devices,
specifically for the elderly, and chemical and physical properties through baking. This
was my most creative activity. I was very proud of myself.

Professional Reading/Copyright:
April 8, everyone hates the constant reminder of copyright laws, but so many student do
it, even top scholars. This articles are a good way to refresh your memory on this topic. I
know how hard it is to come up with information and ideas, but I rather take a bad grade
then get jail time or kick out of school for simply copy and pasting.
Discussion Board 4 Digital Citizenship:
April 15, I picked Caught Awareness because too many students are being exposed to
sexual cites and content, getting bullied, and violence. As educators, students value our
opinions almost over their own parents. If we focus on why these types of resources and
online acts are a reflection of our character it will lessen the secretive uses of these
materials and ways. Scare tactics are not effective and punishing a child for online
exploring is no help if you cant explain why they are prohibited, especially at school.
