tumbler
The tumbler was purchased with a grant from the
Pollination Project. The compost will be used in 5
gallon buckets that will be used to grow vegetables.
These "portable gardens" which have been donated
from Fairway and Stop and Shop will be donated to
local nursing homes free of charge for their residents
to experience home grown vegetables.

Our Thanksgiving
Ms. Rocks class X20, invited class V30 to our Thanksgiving Feast.
Class X20 learned about the Indians and how they came together
with the Pilgrims to create what we know and celebrate as
Thanksgiving Day. Ms. Guerreros class learned about the role the
Pilgrims played on that day and joined us for our Thanksgiving
Feast.
We began with painting and
coloring the Mayflower. All
hands were on deck. We were
getting anxious to see the
outcome.

We made Indian
necklaces.
We also made
baskets, and
dream catchers.
We even had our
faces painted.

Each class chose a Dr. Seuss book and created a project that
depicted their favorite part. Students created dioramas and posters
to illustrate that part they loved. They worked hard on their
projects to honor our favorite author.
On March 31, Ms. Alvarez threw
a birthday party for Dr. Seuss.
She decorated the cafeteria and
displayed all the students
projects. Everyone at 882 came
to celebrate. Before playing the
movie, Dr. Seusss The Cat In
The Hat, we sang the happy
birthday song for our favorite
author and cut a custom made
cake, just for him!

100!
The students of class V20 from P9@268 celebrated the 100th
day of school in February. First, the students counted out 100
Fruit Loops and sorted them into groups of 10. Then, they
strung the 100 pieces of cereal onto a necklace. When students
were finished counting and lacing the Fruit Loops they had
fun tasting it and talking about their favorite colors/flavors!
