Milton is a flourishing suburban area with family neighborhoods, parks, and local businesses. Many students walk to school on nice days with their parents. The population is a diverse mix. Describe in detail the program activities, including how the students, educators and caregivers will be participating. Please limit your answer to 1400 characters (approximately 200 words). Fifth grade students will become authors and illustrators as they compose a book about their experiences throughout each grade level. They will brainstorm ideas, write drafs, do peer reviews, and sw pcre of tartan evens nd expeichors they had ach yt, They wil be eBe ture at ‘materials that express their personality and intrest be it drawing with colored pencils, markers, ‘painting, photography, or digital media. The books will be completed using the online program Student “Treasures overtime in the media center. The media specialist and classroom teachers will help guide the process, however students wil be the leaders when making choices about their books, When the books ‘are finished and they willbe published using Student Treasures, so each student receives a hardcover copy of their book and the library gts a copy to share with all students. The fiflh grade students will then read ther books tothe kindergartners to show them things they can do, their diverse experiences, diferent perceptions, and what they can look forward to as they grow and leam about new things throughout thetr school years, How does this program go beyond the basic curriculum?
