Code of Ethics

As an educator, I will be held to the highest standard of ethics.

When given the responsibility of imparting wisdom and knowledge to
our youth, I will be called to act in an upstanding and respectable
manner. I will need to hold the respect and confidence of the students I
will be teaching, the students families, my fellow staff members, and
the administration I work for. I will do my utmost best to advance the
education of every child I am privileged to teach, and will do my job to
the best of my ability every day.
Principle 1 Commitment to the Student
A commitment to the student is a multifaceted obligation. It is
my responsibility to give each student the chance and ability to
succeed in his or her educational journey. As an educator:
1. I will give my students every opportunity to learn to the best of
their ability. Be it through individualized education plans,
adjusting to different learning styles, or offering multiple points
of view.
2. I will make my classroom a safe environment, where the ability
to learn is enhanced, and is not hindered in any way. There will
be no toleration for bullying or abuse in any form. The classroom
will be a place where the student can feel comfortable without
any distractions that would keep them from learning due to fear
for their personal safety or well-being.

3. I will give each child a fair and equal opportunity to learn. I will
not give privilege, or deny benefits to any child based on their
race, sex, background, social or sexual orientation, religious
beliefs, family, or political views.
4. I will not use any relationships with any students in order to gain
private advantage. I will keep professional relationships with my
students to a degree that would be unable to be mistaken as
otherwise.
5. I will keep any and all information about a student, disclosed to
me in a professional setting, private and confidential. As
educators, we are given significant information that looks into
the lives of the children we teach, and the educators should
remain good hosts of the knowledge by keeping it to ourselves
unless the law or substantial professional purposes require
otherwise.
Principle 2 Commitment to the Profession
A commitment to the educational profession is one that should
be taken seriously and considered thoroughly at each level. It is my
responsibility to represent my school, coworkers and administration in
a goo light to the best of my ability. As an educator:
1. I will be upstanding and honest about all of my qualifications and
abilities when applying for an educational position.
2. I will be upstanding and honest about the qualifications and
abilities of any other persons applying for an educational
position.

3. I will keep all information obtained while working personal and

private, unless the law or substantial professional purposes
require otherwise.
4. I will treat each of my colleagues as equals and with the utmost
respect. I will not undermine their education or their authority.
5. I will keep professional relationships with all faculty and staff in
order to be a positive example for the student I will lead.
6. I will not let my race, sex, background, social or sexual
orientation, religious beliefs, family, or political views influence
how I treat or work with my colleagues.
