Dear Parents/Carers,
Our Key Stage Two Behaviour Ladder
On Thursday, the children in Key Stage Two attended an assembly to learn
about the new classroom behaviour ladder that will be being used in KS2. It
is a fair system that allows children to clearly see when they are making the
wrong choices and help them to make better choices to turn this around.
At the start of each day the children will start on Will you be a star
today? in the centre of the ladder. If they are working well and trying their
best, the children will move up the ladder. If the children are making the
wrong choices, they will move down the ladder into warnings. This will be
reinforced through the use of Class Dojo (The ladder is not a replacement,
it is something in class that can always be seen thus reminding the children
of their efforts.)
If your child reaches the top of the ladder they will receive a reward (this
may be a sweet treat, Star of the Day certificate, etc.)
If your child chooses not to correct their behaviour, sanctions such as
missing parts of play or missing Friday Golden Time will be implemented.
You will also be sent a Class Dojo message for children on the lower rungs
to explain why they are at that point on the ladder.
How will it be decided who has Golden Time on Friday?
When teachers look at the Class Dojo reports page they see a list of pupils
names and the percentage of positive points they have scored in a given
period (see below).

If children have less than 85% positive behaviour, they will not get Golden Time but will instead
take part in a review and plan session with the class teacher to improve the following week. The
Class Dojo percentage rings will be used to help children identify targets (See below).

Oh no!
I dont get Golden
Time.

Kind regards,
Gavin Dwyer
Assistant Head Teacher for Key Stage Two
