CONTENT SEQUENCE:

Opening/Anticipatory Set: (state objectives, connect to previous learning, and make relevant to real
life) will give them their weekly vocabs and let them know that we are doing soccer skills.
Introductory Activity/Warm-up segment: Fundamental movements and stopping
Use locomotor movements for students to move throughout the instructional area. On signal, students
stop and freeze without falling. Teach proper stopping form.
Fitness Development segment: Aerobic fitness
Skill Development content - Include Critical Elements, Teaching Cues, and Common Errors you
will likely need to address: soccer skills and lead up activities #1
Skill to be taught; dribbling, inside the foot trap, inside the foot pass
- Dribbling, marking, and ball recovery pairs are scattered, with one player in each pair
having a soccer ball. The player dribbles in various directions, and the second player attempts
to stay close to the first (marking). As skill development occurs, the defensive player can
attempt to recover the ball from the dribbler. If successful, roles are reversed.
- Dribbling, passing, and trapping one player of the pair has a ball and dribbles in different
directions. On signal, student passes to partner, who traps the ball and begins dribbling,
continuing until signal is given.
Game Content- Include Rule Modifications and progression, rules: diagonal soccer
Two corners are marked off with cones 5 feet from the corners on both the sides, outlining
triangular dead areas. Each team lines up and tries to protect two adjacent sides of the square.
To begin competition, three players from each team move into the playing area in their own
half of the space. These are the active players who may roam anywhere in the square. The other
players act as goalkeepers.
Soccer take away
4-5 players are designated as defensive players. Each of the rest of the students have a soccer
ball and dribble it around the area. The defensive players try to take away a ball from the
offensive players. When a successful steal is made, the player losing control of the ball becomes
a defensive player.
Feedback Statements: (specific positive and corrective)
Way to dribble. Always have that ball near your body for better control
Make sure you keep your head down and eyes focused on the ball during contact

Closure/Lesson Summary:
. Will go over and ask students what they have learned (objectives)

Lesson Extension:
I will tell students that football (soccer) is a very popular sport internationally and encourage
them to watch FIFA games and play recreationally with either both friends and family
