4. Shape, Dimension,
and Geometric
Relationships

Students will create

a Google trek on
geometry. Students
will work in groups
of three. The Google
trek will include
many objects, which
are located in their
community. The
students will
describe the objects
by using geometric
shapes and
relationships such
as architecture,
objects in your
home, and things in
the natural world.
2. Communication

digital media and
environments to
communicate and
work
collaboratively,
including at a
distance, to support
individual learning
and contribute to
the learning of
others.
b. Communicate
information and
ideas effectively to
multiple audiences
using a variety of
media and formats.

Create- Students will

assemble a Google

geometric shapes that
exist in their local
community.

will recall the two or
more sequenced
events of the

Social Studies
1. History

Each student will

make a Google Trek
to describe patterns
and chronological
order of events of
his or her recent
past. For example,
the student can
make points on his
or her Google Trek
of his or her new
home, birthday
party at the park,
and the hospital
where his or her
sibling was born.

3. Economics
4. Civics

The teacher will

design a Google
Trek to describe
why people use
geographic terms,
tools, and
technology in
work and play to
describe and find
places. For
example,
vacationers use
maps to find
unfamiliar places.

Students will work

characteristics of
animals.. For

fur of animals such
as raccoons, bears,
and mule deer helps
them survive the
cold winters in
Colorado.

Students

The teacher will

students identify,
and represent
similarities and
differences of
Earth materials.
For example, the
Google trek will
have students
discover the
texture, size,
color, and shape
of various
materials on

The teacher can

assign the student
work with a group
of students. The
teacher can give
the student extra
time to complete
the Google Trek.
The teacher can
supply the
student some
extra one-on-one
time with him or
her.
The student can add
another element to
his or her Google
Trek. For example,
the student may

add three to four

more points of
interests on his or
her map. The
student could
provide more detail
on topic that he or
she is sharing on
the Google Trek.

Other
Reflection:
This matrix helped me understand how to utilize Google Treks in my future classroom. I think children will enjoy creating and
viewing each others Google Treks. I like that I can check the students understanding of content knowledge areas through their
Google Treks. I think incorporating this form of technology will engage the learners. The students will like working with their
classmates when creating their Google Trek.
