Flow measurement at very high temperatures encounters three
specific problems: signal drift, drying out of the couplant grease
between the transducer and pipe, and premature failure of the
transducers because of thermal breakdown.
An ultrasonic meter from another supplier was already installed for
superheated hot water metering and was plagued with both
measuring values drift and high failure rates. The failure led to data
and hence accountability losses. A reliable solution was sought for
the metering.

FLEXIM patented WaveInjector® together with FLUXUS' stable zero
balance flowmeters is an ideal solution for this measuring task. It
can be used at extreme temperatures as high as 400°C (700°F). No
pipe work is needed to install the measurement, and no

The WaveInjector® removes the transducers from the hot pipe. It
incorporates solid coupling materials and thus eliminates thermal
