tocompletelygoaway.Mostofthetreatmentsarereallyjustremedies,theydontactuallycure
thedisease.Atheoreticalwaythatwecouldpossiblycurethecoldisbyusingamedicinethat
killsthevirusorcausesthevirustokilloneanotherbypossiblychangingitspropertythrough
medicinalintervention.

PsoriaticArthritis:Itisadiseasethatcausespain,swelling,stiffness,andreducedrangein
motioninonesjoints.Itcanbeassociatedwithpermanentjointdamageanddisability.Itcanbe
treatedwithNonsteroidalAntiInflammatoryDrugs,DiseaseModifyingAntirheumaticDrugs,
andBiologics.Biologicsareusediftheotherremediesarenotresponsive.Arthritiscannotbe
cured,butcanbehelpedwithtreatment.Itcanlastforasetnumberofyears,oritcouldbe
lifelong.Itismostcommonamongpeople19andup,anditisveryuncommonforchildrento
haveit.Inourproject,wecouldfindawaytocompletelyridapersonofthediseaseratherthan
justsubsidingit.Thereare5differentversionsofPsoriaticArthritis:SymmetricalPsoriatic
Arthritis,AsymmetricalPsoriaticArthritis,DistalPsoriaticArthritis,Spondylitis,andArthritis
Mutilans.

ZikaVirus:Itscausedbyavirusspreadedtopeopleprimarilythroughabiteofaninfected
Adedesspeciesmosquitoes.Themostcommonsymptomsofthevirusincludefever,rash,joint
pain,and
conjunctivitis(redeyes).Deathisrareandmostpeopledontgetsickenoughtobe
admittedintothehospital.Aninfectedpersonisunlikelytocontractthevirusagain.During
pregnancytheviruscancauseaseriousbirthdefectcalledmicrocephalyalongwithothersevere
fetalbraindefects.Therearenocurrentvaccinestotreatorpreventthevirus.Totreatthe
symptoms,theinfectedpersoncangetalotofrest,drinkfluidstopreventdehydration,andtake
medicinesuchasacetaminophen(Tylenol)orparacetamoltoreducefeverandpain.Itisalso
suggestedtoavoidmosquitobitesduringthefirstweekofinfection,astheZikaviruscanbefoundin
thebloodofthepersonandcanbepassedfrominfectedpersontomosquito.Aninfectedmosquito
canthenspreadthevirus.Apossibletherapeuticsolutioncouldbetoinventorfindakindofcellthat
wouldenterthebody,trackdownthevirusandkillit.

RabiesVirus:Thisvirusistransmittedthroughcontactwithinfectedorganisms.Abiteorscratch
fromaninfectedanimalcaneasilytransmitthevirus.Thediseasehasarelativelylongincubation
period(13months)whereitcaneasilybeeradicated,butthemomentsymptomsbegintoarisethe
diseasecanbefatal.Thesurvivalrateofrabiesaftersymptomsariseisonly8%,andinfected
individualsusuallydiewithin2to10daysaftershowingsymptoms.Symptomsofthisdisease
includehydrophobia,partialparalysis,insomnia,anxiety,hallucinations,andcoma.Thediseaseis
easilytreatablewhenstillinitsincubationperiod,withvaccinesavailable,butit
