[first met Dolly in my AP Language and Composition class. What I remember most about Dolly during that time was her passion towards her education, her patience with others, and her leadership ability. It has been such an incredible experience watching her now enter the teaching profession. She is taking that same work ethic from her high school days and putting all of her effort into becoming an effective teacher. Over the last four months, I have seen her doing. everything in her power to create an arsenal of best teaching practices that would improve results for students. She has been going out of her way to pick the brains of everyone in this school for strategies that might make a difference in her classroom. The passion to constantly improve ‘one's practice is something we need more of in the education world, and it is that passion that makes Dolly an effective colleague. She is not required by her student teaching program to work with an instructional coach, but Dolly has sought out feedback from the administration, the other members of her department, and the instructional enhancement programs that exist at Park City High School all on her own. She is highly reflective in her teaching practices and that will allow her to stay in the profession for a very long time. Dolly has also figured out that a big part of the profession is to dedicate as much time and energy to the lives of young adults as possible. Anyone who chooses to be involved in education commits himself or herself to long days that are rarely compensated. I have seen the time that Dolly has put into the school in her short time here. Even though she is not required to participate in extracurricular activities, she willingly attended Sophomore Parent Night in order to help answer questions for incoming sophomore students. I have seen her spend long hours outside of contract time helping students manage her content In addition, Dolly has been an effective member of our PLC team, She has worked to develop shared formative and summative assessments, and she has introduced effective technology strategies in the form of a podcast unit plan that highly improved student engagement. Our little school community has clearly benefited from Dolly’s time and effort over the last few months. I have enjoyed collaborating with her and seeing her progress through this student teaching opportunity. I know that she will be successful in this profession. Please take Dolly Duke into consideration for this teaching opportunity. I cannot think of a more deserving. candidate Sincerely, Lil (HE Edward Potts, Educator Park City School District
