What Is A Disease?
A disease is an abnormal condition of an
organism that interferes with the normal
function of the body or any part of the
organism. Diseases have different causes, and
may be broadly classified into, infectious
diseases and non-infectious diseases.

Infectious Disease
Infectious Diseases are disorders caused by
organisms such as bacteria, viruses, fungi or
parasites.
Some infectious diseases can be passed on
from person to person.
Some of the most common symptoms are:
fever, diarrhoea, fatigue, muscle aches and
coughing.

Causes of Infectious Diseases

Bacteria, viruses, fungi, parasites

Their is no cure for Chicken pox but the virus
usually clears up by itself.

Non-Infectious Diseases
This type of disease is different because this
cannot be transmitted from person to person it
is caused by environmental, lifestyle, nutrient
deficiency and genetically-linked diseases
Different types of non-infectious diseases are:
cancer, diabetes and asthma.

Downs Syndrome

Their is no cure for downs syndrome.

Downs syndrome is a genetic disorder caused
by the bodys cells having three copies of
chromosomes 21, instead of the usual 2 copies.
The extra genetic material in the extra
chromosome disrupts the normal development
of the child and causes the characteristic
features of downs syndrome.

Symptoms
Short neck, bulging tongue, poor muscle tone,
oddly shaped ears, flat facial profile, upwards
slanting eyes.

Diabetes

Currently there is no cure for type 1 diabetes.

It can be treated successfully by administrating
insulin, either by injection or by following a
healthy diet.
Some symptoms of diabetes are: frequent
urination, excessive thirst, increased hunger,
weight loss, tiredness.

CONCLUSION
We learnt about diseases and how we can
get diseases and also how to prevent
getting infected with a disease.
This project benefited me and also my
group members because it warns about
the dangers of diseases, how we can get
infected and also how to prevent getting
infected.
Overall this project was a fun and
informative experience.
