Blooms
Taxonomy

Mathematics
1. Number Sense,
Properties, and
Operations
2. Patterns, Functions,
and Algebraic
Structures
3. Analysis, Statistics,
and Probability

(Teacher Example)
Create a Google
Trek displaying all
different statistics
and probabilities
around the world.
Have your
students record
and analyze the
data you have
displayed.
(Teacher
Standard) 2.
Design and
develop digital
age learning
experiences and
assessments
a. Design or
adapt relevant
learning
experiences that
incorporate digital
tools and
resources to
promote student
learning and
creativity.

(Student Example)
Split the class into
groups and have
each group research
and create a Google
trek regarding a
certain statistic.
Have the students
include as many
primary sources as
they can find. The
groups will then
present their
evidence to their
peers and together
their peers will
analyze each groups
work.
(Student Standard)
2. Communication
and collaboration
a. Interact,
collaborate, and
publish with peers,
experts, or others
employing a variety
of digital
environments and

(Teacher) FactualUnderstand. Teachers

will provide the
students with facts
displayed on Google
Trek as a way of
reaching out to visual
learners, and
hopefully allowing all
students to
understand what is
being discussed.

(Student) FactualAnalyze. Students will

be given a specific
fact and will have to
analyze why and how
the conclusion was
drawn.

media b.
Communicate
information and
ideas effectively to
multiple audiences
using a variety of
media and formats

4. Shape, Dimension,
and Geometric
Relationships
Reading, Writing, and Communicating
1. Oral Expression and
Listening
2. Reading for All
Purposes
3. Writing and
Composition

(Student Example)
Have each student
write their own
story and then
create a Google Trek
following the path of
their characters.
The stories must
include a specific
time period and
student will use
primary sources
from that time
period in their
presentation and
development of
their story. The
primary sources will
allow the students
to gather a better
idea of what the
time was like and
how to develop their
characters and
story.
(Student Standard)
3. Research and
information fluency

(Student)
Metacognitive- Create.
Students will be aware
of their own writing
skills but will have to
take into
consideration the
primary source
requirements and thus
create their own piece
of literature.

b. Locate, organize,
analyze, evaluate,
synthesize, and
ethically use
information from a
variety of sources
and media c.
Evaluate and select
information sources
and digital tools
based on the
appropriateness to
specific tasks

4. Research and
Reasoning

(Teacher Example)
Create a Google
Trek that travels
through the
events in the
literature that is
being discussed in
class. Include
primary sources
from the time so
students gather a
better idea of
what was going
on during the
setting of the
literature.
(Teacher
Standard) 2.
Design and
develop digital
age learning
experiences and
assessments
c. Customize and
personalize
learning activities
to address
students diverse
learning styles,
working
strategies, and
abilities using
digital tools and
resources

(Teacher) ConceptualApply. Teachers will

give a concept that
applies to the
literature being
discussed. This
concept will facilitate
the students
understanding of why
and how the literature
was written.

Social Studies
1. History

(Student Example)
Divide the class into
groups and assign
each group a
president. Have
each group create a
Google Trek of the
lives of each
president, and
include primary
sources throughout
the lives of each
president and their
presidency.

(Student) FactualApply. Students will

use the facts
discussed in class and
from their own
research and apply it
to their presentation
about their assigned
president. Students
will have creative
freedom on their
presentation but they
must include all
requirements.

(Student Standard)
1. Creativity and
innovation b. Create
original works as a
means of personal
or group expression

2. Geography

(Teacher Example)
Create a Google
Trek displaying
the different
geographical
features of a
certain area and
include primary
sources about the
standards of
living, the
government, and
how the land has
changed, either
by the hand of
human or nature.
This will allow
students to gather
for themselves
how they think life
is lived in these
other areas.
(Teacher
Standard) 5.
Engage in

(Teacher) FactualAnalyze. The teacher

will provide facts to
their students about
geographic locations
and include facts
about population and
development and
encourage students to
analyze why and how
the geography of an
area has changed in
relation to the facts
given.

local and global
learning
communities to
explore creative
applications of
technology to
improve student
learning

3. Economics
4. Civics
Science
1. Physical Science

(Teacher Example)
Create a Google
Trek following the
route of a major
scientist on his
expedition to
prove or disprove
a theory and how
he found his
conclusion. Use
primary sources,
such as that
scientists actual
work and the work
of other scientists
agreeing/refuting,
to show students
the scientific
process and real
world application.
(Teacher
Standard) 3.
Model digital age
work and learning
a. Demonstrate
fluency in
technology
systems and the
transfer of current
knowledge to new
technologies and

the intent of giving
students another way
to interpret and

situations

2. Life Science
3. Earth Systems
Science

(Student Example)
As a whole, have
the class track a
weather system and
record the findings
each day for a
week. Have each
student individually
create a Google Trek
that followed the
particular weather
pattern over that
week and have each
student document
their prediction for
the next week of
weather.

(Student) ProceduralEvaluate. The

students will be
following a procedure
and gathering their
own inferences on
what is to come based
on the evidence they
gathered.

(Student Standard)
3. Research and
information fluency
a. Plan strategies to
guide inquiry

Learning Disabilities EEOs

(Student Standard)
Have each student
create a Google Trek
of their lives and
the journeys they
have traveled.
Whether it be
moving out of state
or moving from
elementary school
to middle school,
have them
document the
achievements in
their lives and their
favorite places, i.e.
the park, the ice
cream stand, the
lake. After they
have mapped
everything that is
important to them,
have them map

(Student) ConceptualRemember. Students

will recognize what
has happened in their
life and attempt to
make a plan for their
future.

where they would

like to be in a few
years. Have the
students include
their own primary
sources like
pictures of
themselves with
their family and
friends or maybe
poems or artwork
they have made.
(Student Standard)
1. Creativity and
innovation
b. Create original

personal or group
expression

Physical Disabilities
Gifted/ Talented

(Teacher Example)
Create a Google
Trek containing
only primary
sources from a
specific time
period, but do not
tell the students
which time period.
Present the
Google trek to
your students and
have them write a
one page analysis
discussing what
was happening at
the time, what
time period they
think it was, and
why.
(Teacher
Standard) 2.
Design and
develop digital
age learning
experiences and
assessments

(Teacher) FactualAnalyze. The teacher

will provide students
with raw facts and
encourage them to
use the knowledge
they have to draw
inferences about
these facts.

d. Provide
students with
multiple and
varied formative
and summative
assessments
aligned with
content and
technology
standards, and
use resulting data
to inform learning
and teaching

Reflection:
Each Matrix has forced me to find a way to integrate all forms of technology into my classroom. Each Matrix proved itself to
be difficult and encouraged me to think outside of the box. There are countless ways to integrate all kinds of technology into
every subject, even a Google Trek. The most basic and most difficult software and media programs can be integrated into
learning and should be for the sake of all students. Technology is evolving, as are students, and it is a teachers job to figure out
how to engage and facilitate learning for students. The importance of technology in a classroom was always something I knew,
but not something I fully understood. Throughout ET 247 I have familiarized myself with so many computer programs, most of
which I didnt know existed, and I now feel confident I can provide an engaging and productive curriculum for my students with
regard to technology.
