Discussion about advantages and disadvantages of globalization
Globalization has had many advantages for every country in terms of
economy, technology and culture; however it also has some disadvantages. In this
essay, I will discuss both sides of globalization.
On the one hand, globalization not only plays a pivotal role in the
development of economy and technology but also promotes the exchange of
culture between different countries. In the globalized age, many international
companies do business across the world. They can produce in one country and sell
in others. For example Apple produces I phones in China, and they sell them all
over the world. Global economy means free trade between countries, and it can
create many more opportunities for employment. Today, there are many factories
in developing countries, which can help the countries develop their economy. New
factories have been created which means that new technology and new equipment
can be applied. In addition, globalization has increased the cultural exchange
between different countries. It is easy to see that there are more and more
Hollywood blockbusters shown in different countries. Some recent examples are
Kung Fu Panda and The Mummy.
On the other hand, globalization has severely affected the culture of nations
and young people. To start with, globalization can weaken national culture.
Presently, it is common to see young people wearing the same clothes, play same
kind music in many big cities in different countries. Culture, which has developed
over thousands of years, may be disappeared. Moreover, in less developed
countries, a lot of young people work in factories of international companies for
over 14 hours a day under bad condition work; however, they are paid less money
than in developed countries.

In summary, in my opinion, we cannot ignore the effects of globalization in

our life. The governments should have a solution to balance between the
advantages and disadvantages.
