Term IntroductionIn term 5, Chinese HanYu Jiao Cheng 3-unit 5
will be covered. There are 3 lessons in this unit, including

and 10+ sentence patterns. Moreover, there are three pieces
of simple texts introducing China, its culture, and customs.

Citizenship: Attendance on time and active participation are required in the class. It
is the responsibility for the student to follow up what materials have to cover when
he/she misses a class. Please contact the teacher or classmate if you have questions.
Besides, daily review, well prepared for class, speaking Chinese, show good and
positive attitude in class will get full credit and accelerate to be a successful Chinese
learner. The faithful participation is very crucial to obtain full grade of 20%.
Homework: It is very important for the Chinese learner to complete all homework,
which has assigned by the instructor on the weekly schedule. In order to be a
successful Chinese learner, all assignment and workbook exercises have to hand in
on time. Incomplete and late homework will not receive full credit. The reducing
grade of 10% will be accounted due to the tardiness of submission of homework.

Quiz /Test: In order to make solid foundation and accelerate Chinese writing,
listening, speaking, and reading, dictations will be given per class for training
listening, writing, and making dialogue conversation. This makes up 20% of
Chinese grade.
Final Project: Every student has to represent his/her final project by the end of each
term, including oral presentation, research paper, and handmade work. It will
weight 20 % of the final grade.
