In May of 2016 I will graduate from Carroll Community College with an associates degree in science for
register nurse. My strong work ethic is evident from the fact I have held professional positions
concurrent with my academic studies. These experiences have enabled me to gain a realistic view of the
demands and challenges of the business world and prepare myself with a new career change. My
qualifications for the registered nurse position also include:
Establishing IV access and obtaining blood specimens for test from all age ranges from infants to elderly
Basic patient care including vital signs, turning and re positioning, answering call lights, engaging in
conversation.
Placing patients on cardiac monitor and obtaining EKG on all ages
Assisting in triage process
Assisting doctors and nurses with procedure such as lumbar punctures, suturing, NG placements, Foley
catheters, central lines, nasal packing's, splinting, pelvic exams
Charting in computer electronically and on paper chart when downtime occurs
Assisting in STEMI patients and STROKE patients to ensure care to be done in less than a hour
Prepare patients for surgery
Caring for patients for all ages and all types of medical problems including psychiatric, med sure,
pediatrics, OB/GYN, cardiac
Assist with patients that are in critical care and resuscitation
Working as a team with other health care members including doctors, nurses, techs, secretaries, patients
and patients family.
