Book Talk
Objective: Student will talk about a book they read during Second Quarter. They will give some
information about characters and plot, but they will not give away the ending. Students will
recommend the books to a certain audience. Book talks will last 1-2 minutes. Your job is to get
other kids interested in reading your book. You will introduce yourself and your book to the class.
Expectations while speaking:
* Look at the class
* Use voice level 3 (whole class can hear)
* You may use notes to help you remember your talking points.
* Have the book with you to show the audience (this may mean you will need to check it out
again!)
* Choose one paragraph to read that highlights something you like about the book.

bully. Some new kid decides to help him. This new kid becomes a friend and uses chickens to
teach Tobin about the meaning of life.
