How FBLA can Benefit the Students and

Teachers in Ireland
The Future Business Leaders of America is
the largest business student organization,
and it just keeps growing. With over
235,000 members, nearly 11,000 advisers,
and almost 6,500 chapters in 47 states,
Brazil, the Cayman Islands, China, Haiti,
Korea, Puerto Rico, and the U.S Virgin
Islands, FBLA-PBL is a great opportunity
for students around the globe.
FBLA has nine goals. They are:

Develop competent, aggressive

business leadership.

These goals translate well into the needs of

Irish students and teachers. As a small
country with a capitalist economy, Ireland
relies heavily on imports and exports. As
members of FBLA, students in high school
will gain a better understanding of economic
principles. FBLA will help student develop
leadership skills and provide them with the
opportunity to attend conferences, compete
amongst their peers, earn recognition and
awards, develop friendships, and get
connected with members from around the

adopt new chapters from Ireland. These

chapters could email back and forth with
any questions that either has. They could
plan reasonable times for both chapters to
have a combined meeting via video chat,
since the time zones are quite different.
As the project and Ireland FBLA progress,
successful chapters from Ireland would no
longer be adopted by United States chapters.
Instead, these Irish chapters could adopt
other chapters from Ireland, and eventually,
the United States chapters would phase out
of the project, making it entirely Ireland
chapters.
For the first few years, all chapters, from the
United States or Ireland, that complete the
project should be recognized at the national
leadership conference during the opening
session. Eventually, when Ireland gains
enough chapters to have its own conference,
chapters who complete the project should be
recognized there.
