Communications
I have pushed back the weekly assessment test for Beatrice’s Goat to
Monday. We needed a bit more time to complete the skills and concepts. We
will continue with the next story, A Carousel of Dreams. The skills/concepts
in this story include: possessive pronouns, making inferences, analyzing,
spelling words with endings y to i, and decoding multi-syllable words.

Math
Lattice multiplication has been introduced! If this is new to you, it is a
neat way for kids to explore multiplying larger (2x2 and 2x3 digits) numbers.
PLEASE let me know if you need any other information or clarification The
kids are really enjoying this new challenge! It is definitely helpful to be
practicing the basic multiplication facts! Please keep practicing ALL basic
facts at home. This final trimester, the students are assessed on addition,
subtraction, and multiplication. The goal is 43 or better out of 50 in 3
minutes or less to receive a “meets outcome” on the report card.
Extras/ Items to Note:
1. Things to come:
Daily: read 20 minutes and practice facts

Volcano Experiment Update!

We have enough supplies for each student to make their
own volcano. We are planning to build them on Friday and
they will need to dry over the weekend. Then we will paint
them! If you are interested in helping with the experiment,
it is tentatively scheduled for Thursday, May 20th in the
morning. I can use 3-4 parents

HAPPY MOTHER’S DAY!!!

Have a wonderful weekend!
