Agenda
Tonight I will share a little about myself and what I plan
to do this school year with my junior English class.
I will talk briefly about the school year objective and the
books we will be reading.
I will point out important dates and events including big
project due dates, field trips, class parties and school
events.
I will go over classroom rules and procedures so that
parents are aware of what to expect.
Towards the end of my presentation I will pass around a
sign up sheet for parents to sign up for volunteering with
school class events.

About Me
My name is Roma Kakar
I was born and raised in San Francisco California
I received my B.A in English Literature and Secondary
Education from Southern Methodist University in Dallas
Texas
I am a language, culture and travel fanatic
This is my first year teaching high school English and I
couldnt be more excited!

School Year Plan and Objective


This school year I hope to strengthen your childs
reading comprehension skills.
We will take a deeper look into literature and work on
proper essay writing etiquette.
I will prepare your children for college by having most
classes discussion based that way your child can get an
early start at what to expect in college English
classrooms.

Classroom Expectations
Rules
1. Always come to class
prepared, on time, and
ready to learn.
2. Give the speaker your
undivided attention.
3. Cell phone use is prohibited
during class time unless
otherwise instructed by
teacher.
4. Give everything your best
attempt.
5. Respect yourself, teachers,
and others at all times.

Procedures
1. Students are required to
silently complete the hook
activity at the beginning of
each class period while the
teacher walks around to check
off and collect homework.
2. Students are responsible for
the work they miss when and
if absent; students should first
check the absent folder then
consult the teacher for further
assistance.
3. Students should silently
take the hall pass by the
classroom door if needing a
restroom or water break.

Closure
Parents and families play a huge role in a students
education and I highly encourage parents to sign up to
volunteer for participating in one event this school year.
I will now pass around the sign up sheet and if there are
