1. What is art?
Art is the expression of an individual's personal aesthetics through a genre or
medium. In other words, art is what a person or group of people find pleasing in either of
the 5 senses. Art has similarities such as the audience it attracts, the style or movement
of art, or the form it is presented in.
2. What is the purpose of art?
The purpose of art is to express one's true feelings through aesthetics. The
purpose actually depends on the artist themselves because it's up to them to decide
what they want the audience to interpret from their work. An artist can sculpt a sculpture
for reasons ranging from a tribute to narcissistically establishing where they stand. A
painting can be painted to attract audiences or for commercial purposes.
3. How and why is art used as a vehicle for communication?
Art is used as a vehicle for communication, but mainly for visual communication.
This is because as humans and mammals, we depend a lot on our eyesight. Our
eyesight helps us with recognizing patterns in order to process the image passing
through our eyes to decide what our next action is. Art depicting inanimate objects can
cause a person to feel or react when viewed. It provides an insight into the artist's
thinking and mindset. Written language is art that represent groups of sounds that when
put together, they make communication and understanding things very easy.
4. Why create?

To create means to bring into existence or to cause something to exist. Creativity

is art it's self because the ability to come up with new and unique things is the beautiful
thing about humanity. We're are in this constant cycle of creating something new,
getting bored of it, and then creating something else that is new. This can be seen in
observing the change of lifestyle within the past century. Humans can identify era's of
specific time and invention and can refer those times to improve themselves.
5. How does beauty influence the quality of life?
Beauty influences heavily on the quality of life. This is because our eyes are
drawn to things that attract us in order to feel satisfactory, which brings in the aesthetic
part. Beauty is often referred to as something the majority takes interest in, but in
actuality the quote "beauty is in the eye of the beholder" says it right. Beauty is all
personal, but agreement on beauty is optional.
6. Which artist's work do you consider exceptional? Why?
Pablo Picasso because of his abstract work that spread the use of cubism. His
work was not at all perfect to the eye but it held a pleasing aspect to many of his
viewer's eyes. It's exceptional because it was very different and unique from all the
other genres of art, where it usually depicts and image the artist imagined or had seen.
