The science workshop provided us with
detailed information and strategies to teach science and technology in primary schools. The two day workshop went through the 5Es strategy thoroughly and provided modelled examples of how this looks in the classroom. The workshop provided us with the skills to understand the most appropriate methods in which to teach the content of Primary Connections in the science KLA. The workshop provided us with detailed information on the Science and Technology Australian Syllabus, and the Primary Connections Unit of work. As groups we analysed these and structured how we would teach the content, and organise the information into a structure learning sequence to enhance student learning. The workshop demonstrated and
suggested strategies to teach Science and Technology in a primary classroom (2.1). Analysing and deconstructing Primary Connections Unit of Work provided skills on how to structure lessons and content into an organised learning sequence / unit of work to extend students knowledge (2.2) The workshop demonstrated safe methods of utilising ICT in the classroom, and how this can extent student understanding. ICT was integrated into the workshop by watching many video clips and using the IWB to graph results (2.6)
