OVERVIEW/RATIONALE
Thisunitisourpersonalfinanceunitanditcoverseverythingfromopeningacreditcardto
fillingouttaxforms.TheschooldistrictsuggeststwoweeksforthisunitbutmyCMandIhave
discusseditandwewouldliketodrawitoutinto3.5to4weeksbecausethesetopicsareones
thatstudentswanttolearn,andwefeeltheyareimportantforseniorstoknow.Thisweek,we
havebeenlookingatcreditandcreditcards.OnWednesday,studentsresearchedandpickeda
creditcardinpairsandcreatedaninfographicaboutthatparticularcreditcard.Intodayslesson,
studentswillbedoingagallerywalktotakenotesandvoteonthecardtheythinkisthebestfor
arecenthighschoolgraduate.Thisactivityisaimedatshowingstudentsthevarietyofchoicesin
frontofstudentsaswellastheadvantagesandpitfallsofeachoftheseoptions.Inthesecondhalf
oftheclass,IwillbeintroducingtheStockMarketGameanddiscussingtheStockMarketwith
students.WewillbestartingthegamenextweekandsoIwanttomakesurestudentsallstart
fromabaseofknowledge.ThiswillbearecurringweeklyactivityandIwillusethistimetoset
upmyexpectationthateveryFridaywillbeStockMarketGameday.BecausePhiladelphiahas
PDonFriday,wewillbebeginningonThursdaythisweek.
