reportisdesignedtoexposetheharshtruthsofhumantraffickingandoverall,andtoraisemore
awarenesssothatwecanpreventandhelpthosewhohavebecomeapartofthisindustry.
HumanTraffickingistherecruitment,transportation,transfer,harboring,orreceiptofpersons
byimpropermeans(suchasforce,abduction,fraud,orcoercion)foranimproperpurpose
includingforcedlabororsexualexploitation.AsdefinedbytheUnitedNations.Thereare
approximately20to30millionpeopleinvolvedinthismoderndayslavery.Humantrafficking
isthethirdlargestinternationalcrimeindustry(behinddrugtraffickingandillegalarms
trafficking).Weneedtolookattheproblemdeeperinordertoaddressitandhelpbreakdown
thisindustry.Wewilltalkaboutthenumberofcasesthathavebeenreported,andhowmanyof
thosecasesareopenforinvestigation.Wellalsotalkaboutpopularregionsforhuman
trafficking,andthetwomaingroupsofpeopleinthisindustry,womenandchildren.Finally
welltalkaboutsextraffickingvs.labortraffickingandifthereisadifferencebetweenthe
moneygeneratedfromtheseillegalindustries.
