Dear Khalsa Montessori Students and Families,

We are pleased to welcome you to Khalsa Middle School, an excelling
academic institution constructed around the educational theories of Dr. Maria
Montessori. At Khalsa Montessori Middle School, we strive to be a special
learning environment. We seek not only to provide the highest, most complete
academic environment for each student, but also to form a community that
nurtures an atmosphere of caring and promotes an inclusive social climate.
We strive to be a community of adults and adolescents who respect each
others deepest personal and human qualities.

The Middle School will be administered by Naomi McIsaac, Middle School
Director and Math and Science teacher and Alex Greengaard, Language Arts
and Social Studies teacher.

Naomi McIsaac is certified in Montessori education from the Montessori
Education Center of the Rockies. She holds a Bachelor of Arts from St. Marys
College of Maryland. Prior to teaching at Khalsa she spent time as a Space
Camp instructor in Southern California and as an onboard educator on a
Hudson River Sloop. This is her ninth year teaching at Khalsa Montessori
School and she is looking forward to the new school year!

Alex holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Anthropology from the University of
Arizona and a Master of Fine Arts degree in Interdisciplinary Arts with a
specialization in Education from Goddard. This is his ninth year as a
classroom teacher and his third year at Khalsa. He is also the founder and
director of the summer Theater and Fine Arts program Troubadour. Alex is
thrilled to be back at Khalsa for another year.

school by appointment. Please dont hesitate to contact us with questions or
comments!

You can expect weekly newsletters from us that will include homework
information, upcoming activities and calls for parent volunteers. Volunteer
opportunities include driving to field studies, fundraising, mentoring the
science fair and chaperoning during immersion weeks. We cannot run this
program without the help of parent volunteers and thank you in advance for
all of your support!

Again, we welcome you to the Middle School! If you are new to our school, we
are looking forward to meeting you. If you are returning, we look forward to
catching up at the meeting!
