OVE-Piece Reflection
As I think about the assignments we completed in class, there were only a couple times
we presented our work. The first time we did this, we were in groups. We presented on a topic as
a group and we each wrote a paper about our organization. This was for assignment #3 and the
only other time we presented was in assignment #5 when we created a brochure and presented it
to the class. I decided to choose assignment #5 for my reflection because it was my best work in
the oral, visual, and electronic modes.
Assignment #5 was a run-off of assignment #4 where we chose an artwork and described
the actual meaning of the painting. For my painting I chose to reflect on the painting The Scream
by Edvard Munch. I felt this was a great painting for me to write on because it was so famous but
so much of the painting is up for the viewer to analyze. The question all the viewers want to
know is what is the person looking at? In my assignment #4 I went into deep detail suggesting
what I felt it meant so when #5 came around I felt this would be easy. I had already done all the
research I needed for the previous assignment so creating a brochure to present to the class was
going to be easy. I chose to go with a brochure rather than a poster because of my target
audience. I made a brochure for Edvard Munch fans who wanted to take a deeper look inside his
life to what made him the artist he became. I knew a brochure would give me the space needed
and the right format for me to allow the reader to easily understand. In my brochure I talked

about his early upbringing, his family, and some influences he later faced that greatly impacted
his paintings. Visually, this brochure was my best example through class because it was an origin
piece created by me showing my ideas.
After reviewing my feedback, I was able to understand why I received the grade I did for
the assignment. If I was going to present this assignment again I would keep my brochure the
way it is. I felt like visually it achieved my goal of allowing the reader to get a more in depth
look. Orally, next time I presented I would make sure to use more expressionism. The more
enthusiasm I show during my presentation the more the audience will be interested in listening to
what I had to say. I felt like I had good usage of electronics. I was able to create a clean
professional brochure through a word document. I think as a whole, this project showed my
strong skills in all of the OVE categories and I was to redo this project I would only make a few
slight changes.
