Activity 2 5 vs 3

In the grid, attackers are to use the knowledge of the roll ball to
score a try at the opposite end
There is to be 5 attackers and 3 defenders running
through on each run.
Attackers have to pass the ball among themselves, down
the line so that they can get past the defenders and score
a try.
Attackers have one roll ball in use that they can use at any
time to get past the defenders.
Defenders have to try and stop the attackers from scoring
Extension:
Students have to use at least one switch or wrap in their drill
run do get past the defenders.

Activity 3 Last touch


Staying within their grid, students are to practice the
last two touches by experiencing the different roles the
dummy half can play.
Dummy half to start with the ball, with the other
two attackers starting 5m on either side.
Two defenders are to start 5m in front of the other
two attackers.
Dummy half to run across the try line and turn and
face the other two attackers.
Attackers have to try and separate themselves
from the two defenders and receive a pass from
the dummy half scoring a try.
Defenders have to try and stop the other two
attackers from receiving the ball and scoring a try
Extension:
Defenders can tag the dummy half but the dummy half
still has to try and get over the try line.
Dummy half to read the play and try and get the ball to
the attackers for a try.

Activity 2 Wrap and Switches


Students are to go through the drill by 3 attackers and
2 defenders. Three attackers have to try and pass
between each other to get to the other end of the
square without being tagged.
Students start of opposite sides of the square and run
around in a clockwise direction.
Students enter at different ends of the square.
Students have to execute at least one wrap or switch in
their drill.
Once the ball has been dropped or the defenders make a
touch or intercept the drill ends.

Students rotate roles at the end of each exercise so that


they can play both roles.
