Name of Artifact: Teacher Interview Project
Date: March 1, 2016
Course: EDUC 101: Introduction to Teaching
Brief Description:
This is an overview of a personal interviewed conducted with a current teacher at Avon
Intermediate School East. It begins with the teachers responses, followed by how I agree or
disagree with the teachers opinions, and then focuses on my personal belief of being a teacher
and why I want to teach. The point of this assignment was to spend extended time with a teacher
to gain first-hand knowledge of their teaching style, beliefs about students, the classroom, the
school, the community and the general field of education as a whole.
Rationale:
To document my understanding of InTASC Standard 9, Professional Learning and Ethical
Practice, I have selected to conduct an interview with a seasoned teacher because not only has
she had a lot of experience in her field, but she has also taught different grades at completely
different mental maturities when it comes to the students and herself. The teacher I selected to
interview had a very big influence in my walk to become a teacher and a lifetime learner. This
teacher has seen children from all walks of life, cultures, and personal situations, so I believe that
she was the best candidate to help me in my growth as a teacher.
