I am writing this letter in support of Andrea Claires application for a teaching position. I
was Andreas instructor, supervisor and adviser in the masters degree in Differentiated
Instruction Students with Disabilities program at St. Bonaventure University. In my opinion,
Andrea is a bright, articulate and passionate teacher.
I had the opportunity to observe Andrea in two internship experiences. In one experience,
she targeted the needs of gifted and talented learners. I had the opportunity to observe her twice
in this setting. She worked with 4th and 5th grade students in a specialized after-school
enrichment program and targeted their creativity and problem solving skills in a STEM program.
Andrea was organized, managed time well and provided challenging and engaging learning
experiences for these students.
I also had the opportunity to observe her three times in her special education internship
experience. Andrea supported students with learning disabilities in inclusive settings and worked
with students with more significant needs in a self-contained classroom. She developed highly
scaffolded, yet challenging, lessons to support students in reaching their IEP goals.
I strongly support Andreas application for a teaching position. I believe she will be a
