Community
Director
Search
Committee,
I
am
writing
to
express
my
interest
in
the
Community
Director
position
at
Loyola
University-New
Orleans.
I
am
interested
in
this
position
because
of
the
opportunity
to
engage
students
through
implementation
and
oversee
programming.
In
May
2016,
I
will
complete
my
master
of
education
in
Higher

with
a
concentration
in

Administration.
After
I
graduate,
I
am
looking
to
combining
my
awareness,
knowledge,
and
skills
to
continue
to
help
first
year
students
with
their
transitions
to
the
college
setting.
This
position
will
not
only
provide
me
with
the
opportunity
to
serve
as
a
supervisor
to
student
leaders
in
a
residential
setting,
but
it
will
also
allow
me
to
share
my
expertise
to
assist
resident
students
with
personal
and
academic
concerns.
I
am
a

in
this
position.
I

enthusiasm
and

that
has
allowed
me
to
succeed
in
my
previous
positions.
My
residential
experience
began
at
Wells
College
as
a
Resident
Advisor
for
two
years,
and
most
recently
at
Brown
University
as
a
Resident
Director
of
Sports
Camp.
I
demonstrated
skills
in
administration,
organization,
and
supervision
in
a
residential
setting.
I
trained
and
supervised
nine
Resident
Assistants,
including
leading
a
weekly
staff
meeting,
weekly
one-on-ones,
creating
and
managing
a
duty
schedule,
and
writing
evaluations.
In
addition,
I
managed
six
residence
halls,
oversaw
collection
and
processing
of
forms,
shared
24-hour
emergency
on-call
responsibility
with
co-Resident
Director
for
crisis
response,
and
collaborated
with
various
departments
and
programs
across
campus.
From
my
additional
professional
experiences
in
the
University
at
Buffalos
Intercultural
and
Diversity
Center
and
Medaille
Colleges
Center
for
Community-Based
Learning,
I
have
a
strong
ability
to
plan
and
implement
programming.
As
the

and
Diversity

I
assisted
with
the
coordination
of
the
offices

scale
campus-wide
program,
World
Bazaar,
targeted
toward
750-1000
students.
As
the
Graduate
Assistant
in
Medaille

for
Community-Based
Learning,
I
am
the
liaison
between
students
and
non-profit
organizations.
Our
office
provides
community-based
learning,
service
learning,
and

resources.
One
of
the
major
responsibilities
of
my
current

and
campus
community
on
the

which
involves
more
than

1000
bags
that
hold
Thanksgiving
meals
for
families
in
need.
In
addition,
I

to
further
discuss
the
