Going to Battle
As college approaches so does the idea of how you want to continue your path.
Ultimately, what you want to study will push you towards the goal of a career revolving around
what you love. Therefore, it is important to identify first, with your passions and second, with
your strengths. Knowing what you associate best with allows one to harness their strengths into a
positive outcome.
After reviewing my strengths test, I was not surprised by the results but rather glad to
have it certified that I connect well with others and am confident not only in myself but my
beliefs. Being a Christian, I strongly believe in the way of my faith and following Christ. I also
have firm beliefs towards people when it comes to understanding and cultivating potential.
Interaction with people is something I have always enjoyed as I find it nothing short of
fascinating to discover new things about others and their walks of life. People were put together
for a reason and whether we learn from others mistakes, receive guidance, experience love, or
find humility through someones story, I think it is important to honor that value of that and put
forth an effort to reach out when possible.
Going forward with such awareness, I see my choice to be a teacher more and more
fitting. First, I identified my passion, which is art. Then, I followed that with my strengths to
connect to others and push people to be their best. Teaching really puts you in a position to lead
and influence younger minds as they make their way into the world. I myself have been greatly

influenced by a number of teachers and being able to inspire even one student in the same way I
have would make it all worth it. I believe in people, and I believe in their potential. I know as an
individual it is easy for me to see the good in people, and it is not only my hope, but my mission
to open the eyes of others to see all the good they have to offer the world.
