Reflection 5 & 6

Different learning style and differentiation

During this week, my task was to observe two students. In the
class, the students are in different levels. I observed who has not
reached expected cognitive target. Nabila, she do not understand what
the teacher was explaining and she was not with the teacher online.
She always looked absent minded. On the other hand, I observed
Mohammed who has exceeded cognitive level expectation. He is smart
and intelligent, I noticed that he was following the teacher and able to
answer all of her questions in construct Nabila was not paying
attention.

Nabila had difficulties in learning. Moreover, she never

concentrated, and she was in her own world. I was surprised when I
saw her drawing when the teacher asked her to write the letter, while
all the kids were able to write. I think that she has difficulty in learning
because no one was looking after her. I could see that she was so
weak. For this reason, My MCT gave her another worksheet that was
different from the others, and she asked her assistant to look after her
because she needed someone to focus on her.

Reflection 5 & 6

Nevertheless, Mohammed was working hard, paying attention and

following what the teacher was saying and the reason behind that is
that there is some one is looking after his homeworks as my MCT said.
I was interested when I saw that he did not have any problem in
focusing and he was able to understand everything. It was obvious that
this child exceeded the expectation because when the teacher asked
the kids to write the letter he was able to do it easily, quickly and with
good handwriting. My MCT always gave him another worksheet that
was suitable to his level.

To sum up, in my opinion, the best way to help the students learn is
to give them tasks according to their levels so they will be able to
understand better. Such as Nabila need prizing when she answer the
questions, while Mohammed need challenge activities.
