Creating ExamView Tests & Exporting to eClass

1. Open the ExamView application.


2. Click Create a new test from scratch.

3. Name your assessment.

4. An information window appears. Click OK.

5. Select Question and then New and the type of question you need/want.

6. Another pop up window appears, click OK.

7. Type your question and answers and click Record once you have finished.

8. Repeat step 7 for each question you create.

You can also edit/add questions by clicking on that area of the page.

9. Once you have created all your questions, you will also have an answer document at
the end of the assessment. NOTE: Student will not see the answers or answer
document.

10. From the File menu click Export and select Blackboard 7.1+

11. It will then ask you to name the file.

12. Type a File name and click Save.

13. The Export to Blackboard 7.1+ window appears. Name the assessment twice and
click OK.

14. Go to the eClass C&I Tool in the portal and select the course you wish to add the
assessment.
15. On the Navbar click Edit Course.

16. Click Import/Export/Copy Components.


17. Click the radial button next to Import Components and then click the radial button
next to from a course package. Click Start.

18. Select the file (ZIP file) that you wish to import, and click Import All Components.

19. The import pre-processing begins. When pre-processing is complete, click


Continue.

20. On the Navbar click Classroom Assessments.


21. Click the Question Library tab. The newly imported ExamView test questions
should now be imported into the Question Library.

22. Click Done Editing Questions.

23. Lets create our test from our newly imported set of questions! Click Manage
Classroom Assessments and then, New Classroom Assessment.

24. Give the assessment a title, then click Add/Edit Questions button.

25. Click the Import button.

26. Under Import Source, select From an Existing Collection. From Source Collection,
select Question Library. From Source Section, select your newly imported
questions from the Collection Root!

27. Scroll down to select your quesitons. By clicking the top box you select all questions, to
select specific questions, check the box to the left of the question mark icon. Click Save.

Congratulations! Your assessment has now been added to eClass. You will need to set it to
Active, and may want to set the questions to display one per page.

1. Go to Classroom Assessments on the NavBar and find your new assessment. Click the
drop down arrow beside the name of your assessment and select Edit.

3. Click on the Restrictions tab, your test will save automatically. If the Status box says
Inactive change it to Active. It will automatically save. If you wish to make it active

on a certain date and time you may also change that as well. You can chose to have it
displayed in your Calendar.

4. To preview your assessment, click on Classroom Assessments, find your new


assessment and click the drop down arrow and select Preview.

5. You will now get a screen that gives you a description and directions for the assessment.
Click Start Classroom Assessment to preview. Click Exit Preview when you are
finished with your preview.

6. You assessment is now ready.

You can set your assessment to be scored once a student completes it as well as how you
want students to see (or not see) the answers and/or their responses.
