Hints Before Beginning Your Service

Project

Before you begin thinking about your Eagle Scout Service Project, plan to
record all the time you spend in the planning, implementing, and evaluation
of your project. You will need to account for all your time in the final, and the
time spent by your volunteers during the evaluation phase of your project.
For review and approval, your project will need to be written up in the latest version
of Eagle Scout Service Project Workbook, BSA publication No. 512-927, This is a
national requirement, and consistent with all Eagle Scout candidates.
Please do complete the Project Proposal section of the Workbook first, and
walk your Scoutmaster or Project Coach through your plan before requesting
approval at the unit level.
Please download the Licking District Eagle Scout Process document for help
with how to complete the Eagle Scout Service Project Workbook sections:
Project Proposal, Project Plan, Fundraising Application, and Project Report.

Hints Before Beginning Your Service Project, continued

Your project needs approval from:

your Scoutmaster,
your Troop Committee, and
your Project Beneficiary, before it gets the final
review and approval from the District.
Each reviewer will likely have recommendations and improvements for you
to consider, so please work through that process sequentially.
Work effectively and quickly, and the adults will do their best to help you
through the process.
If you really want to earn your Eagle Scout Rank, the Scouters who
support this effort will work together to help you with it. Make no
mistake, though, you own the process, and you will indeed need
to manage the work required to earn your Eagle, but we will indeed
support you in this effort.
In order that your supporters are aware of your continual
progress on your Trail to Eagle, please include all of them in all
your email communications with the Licking Advancement
committee.

Hints Before Beginning Your Service

Project: Fundraising

The signature for the Authorized Council Representative
will collected during the same conference to approve your
project.
It is the recommendation of the Licking Advancement
Committee that even if you think you will not need to
Fundraise, it is probably a good idea to complete the
Fundraising Application A and collect the required
signatures when gathering signatures from the same
people on Project Proposal page E.
