Proposal
In the collegiate world today most of the recruiting process is done through camps and
combines. This has a lot to do with National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) rules and
regulations but also college coaches do not have the ability to get out and watch the recruits a
recruit prospects in season because they are in season as well. So many coaches have gone to
using third party trusted programs to find the correct recruits for their teams. Chaim Prospective
Football Camps (CPFC) is great chance to bring revenue to the school, build the university name
along with much more.
CPFC is three different camps that will run twice a summer, Develop Your Skills, Build
Your Name and Top Dawg; all of three camps include a drawstring bag, a Nike dri-fit shirt, and
water bottle. All campers will be evaluated the whole duration of the camp hours which will lead
to the selections of the top prospects who will compete against each other for the top player of
the position. The events will be run my students of the college specifically but student athletes,
just as girls lacrosse director Chelsea Sandone for Ultimate Events and Sports does in late July.
The concession stand will be in full effect along with a few pop up venue which will pay a mixed
cost, which be fixed on the cot to be on selling on the campus property and the a variable cost for
the hours the venues are open. CPFC is sponsored by Gatorade, 247sports, and Nike which
allows for the beverages, Nike dri-fit and video coverage, to be taken out of the cost because the

Smith 2
items are a part of the bonus for working with these top companies instead of their competitors.
Finally, retail of CPFC, West Chester, and Nike products are going to be in a pop alongside the
food venues will be sold at the camps as well.
Develop Your Skills is a two day camp for middle school students grades 6-8 who are
looking to get an early jump on the recruiting process while having the chance to work with
college coaches. It is an overnight camp held on Saturday and Sunday. That will cost 225 dollars
and consist of two 8 hour session which will begin early in the morning giving the campers a
realistic feeling of what it means to be a collegiate athlete. The coaching staff on hand are active
college coaches from West Chester, Temple, Villanova and University of Delaware. The campers
will be spilt of by position and then ran through very active learning drills and put at against their
opposition position for one on ones for the first day. When the come back the next day the
camper will be split up and spend more to learning the mental aspect of the game along with
some physical drills. After the campers will come back for competitions given their positions. At
the end awards will be handed out for various aspects of the camp. This is a great camp for the
campers but a great chance to bring revenue to the university. The total cost of this camp is 7200,
which means to break even on event there has to be a minimum of 32 campers. However, CPFC,
sponsors, and staff brings many credible names which will bring out many campers, and the
camp will not be run unless 75 campers sign up bring in a revenue of 9675 not including
revenue brought in from the retail and food venues. The expectation is to have over 150 campers
come out to the event bringing in great profit.
Build Your Name is a one day camp for high school student grades 9-12 who are looking
to get more exposure for college recruiting. Like DYS with there will be the same venues and the
staff, etc. in place. However, the intensity of the camp along with the coaches will be very

Smith 3
different. This camper is an invite only camp, we are looking to put the best athletes against the
best athletes in the northeast region. A camp like this brings all the coaches from a across the
nation to one location to watch the campers compete against elite competition, with an
expectance of over 200 division I, II, II and Jucco coaches and recruiters in attendance. The
coaching staff that will be working with the future stars are retired NFL and colleges who are
coming out for the hoy and fun of the sport. The knowledge of the game will be poured unto the
campers early on in the day when the kids are separated to into position, to be warmed up and
stretched out, which will help them learn how to get an edge on their competitors. They will then
be put through Nikes Sparq combine test starting with the 40 yard dash, then the power ball
throw, 5-10-15 cone drill, and finally the vertical and board jump; the athletes will receive a
grade for this which will help coaches gage their athletic ability. They will then be taken with
specific coaches were they will compete for the rest of day till we find who is the best of the best
at the respected position. The point of this camp is for these future entertainers to fight for their
name to be one of the main conversation points of college coaches, and they will get there shot
by having some of the top prospects in the nation in attendance. During this time the parents will
get a chance to sit down with head marketers from the world renown NCSA (National Collegiate
Scouting Association) and 247Sports who have helped to put over 80,000 students athletes unto a
collegiate football team along getting over four billion dollars in scholarships for those young
athletes. The two great organizations will break down how the recruiting process works, what it
means to be a collegiate athletes and to be parents of these athletes along with other vital
information, which is important for the families to know. This is will be a great money maker for
West Chester the total cost to hold the event is 10525. However the camp cost 200 and 53
campers have to come to break-even, but 225 student athletes will be sent an invite with an

Smith 4
expectance of 150-175 to come to the event bring in a revenue of $30,000-35,0000. This does not
include variable revenues such as the retail sales, the spectators who come out, food vendors, etc.
Also, the possible future income made from the parents seeing the campus and wanting the child
to attend West Chester.
Top Dawg is a weeklong camp meant to help build team chemistry through competition
with other programs in the area. TD starts on Sunday when a group of at least 18 campers grades
9-12 show up with a3 chaperons at least 2 have to be high school coaches. The camp is broken
day to 3 two hour sessions 3 times a day. It an exclusive camp for the athletes to develop their
skills along with build strong relationships with their teammates and coaches. The camp will start
off slow with the first two days having the teams working solely with, the colligate level staff
and their personal coaches. Then on the third day they will be put into equipment and the
intensity and fun will begin. The teams will be broken up by position so the campers get the
chance to reach out and meet new people but also get the chance to learn from different coaching
staffs as well at the end of the day competitions will be held; they will be games such as tug war,
relays etc. these are supposed to be fun but competitive at the same time because each winner
gives points to the team they came with and at the end of the camp an award for the team with
the most point will be given out, from activities such as these game. Days 4 and 5 will be very
the days which separate the elite teams from the mediocre. The teams will begin to head to head
in different game situation scenarios to see what the athletes have learned with no help from their
coaches or the coaching staff running the camp. During this time coaches will be taken to
different area and taught how to help develop the athletes character to prepare them for college
as well as the real world, because many coaches play a large role in the development of the
young men. Finally in the last session the top 4 teams will go in a sudden death NCAA college

Smith 5
football overtime rules playoff bracket to name the Top Dawg team of the camp. This is
combination of the previous to and has great potential to bring a large revenue to the campus by
keeping it exclusive it cuts down the cost of needing a large staff along with preparing for
spectators the camp uses all of West Chester facilities which gives the campers a great chance to
grow comfortable with the campus. The total cost of the camp is 9,750 dollars however, the cost
is 2200 dollars per team or 140 per camper and will not be run with less than 8 teams on campus
which is 4 teams over what is need to breakeven.
Chaim Prospective football camps are known nationwide and come with many great
perks to the Universities in which host the events. As stated early in the paper by choosing to
take on this simple, but great plan the amount of revenue and publicity brought to the campus is
worth the little effort needed to run the camps. As the head director I will be taking care of
organizing all parts needed to run each camp, as I have done before working with my student
council in high school to bring for the first time in school history the great cancer raising MINIThon. I have also been a part of other athletic camps as a staff member, assistant director and
player so I know what it means to run the camp along with what could have been done to make
some of the great widely known camps I have been to better. Finally, after playing football at
West Chester University and personally knowing active and retired players and coaches in the
NFL as well as at the colligate level; I have the connections to be able to bring in the experienced
coaching staff the camps provide. Chaims Prospective Football Camps are great chance to build
the name of the University, bring better athletes to play for the school, and finally bring a great
amount of revenue to help the school become even better than it already is.
