A. Personal Statement

The reason for applying to the dental hygiene master program at UCSF is to both expand on
my knowledge in this field and to qualify myself to be a good employee; my future career will
be mainly employed as a specialist in dental hygiene in Saudi Arabia or in another location. I
believe that the dental hygiene program at UCSF will prepare me for a successful and
challenging career.

My present strength is perseverance, and I believe it's a very important skill necessary to
achieve all your goals and dreams. Even though the course is not easy for me because of
many factors; one of them being English as a second language, but I know in my heart that I
can do it and I will not give up.

During the program, I would like to strengthen my background knowledge of dental hygiene so
that I become an expert in this profession. Furthermore, after I graduate from this school, I
want to be able to talk and convince people who do not believe in dental hygiene that it is a
valuable and important profession.

While I was studying at ElS- center Milwaukee, I did many presentations

at the class and I spoke about Gingivitis, periodontitis, Oral health, cheating, junk
food, obesity, beauty, time management and transportation.

I worked as a volunteer at Hunger Task Force and I completed 43 hours in

community service.
