Strengths:

Greeting the students


Objectives stated on the board
Asking about day and date
Going through the classroom rules
Clear instructions this time asking the students to put the pieces together to find the animal
Asking about the color of the bear in real life
Calling group by group to sit on the floor
Telling the students about the title and author
Using body language while reading, but you need to use facial expressions
Asking comprehension questions during the story
Reviewing the concepts of the story
Practicing the correct spelling of the of the new vocabulary
Clear pictures with words
Good drilling
Pointing to help them remember the correct sound
Matching activity was successful
Praising the best group with the table on the board
The students were motivated to answer
Good control over the groups when going back to the desks
Eye contact with naughty students
Good to discuss the characters of the story and match them to the animals
Monitoring the students and helping them during the discussion
Checking answers of words they matched
Good to give black point to the naught and noisy group
Showing a real example of the mole
Ringing the bell, raising voice to control the students
Asking the students about why the group did not get a point
Praising the best group with gifts
Better lesson plan this time

Suggestions:

Avoid giving your back to the students


Keep your eyes on the students
Mostly focused on the right side of the class
Show the story to the whole class not the first group on the right
Let the students to read the title by themselves
Give the students a chance to answer
You went really quickly through the story
The students werent understanding most of the story
Pronunciation of the word owl and squirrel
Some words like millipede is new and confusing, keep it as a warm
Keep your eyes on the whole class while the student is matching on the board
Dont allow them all to go to the toilet, some were trying to go and mingle around
Watch out the subject-verb agreement (these are the twigs)
Try to employ transitions and oral positive feedback
Be more specific in the evaluation section in the lesson plan

Critical reflection

Being here in the school , improve me a lot .


I saw different kind of strategy and different learning style of teaching
Teaching grade 2 was a challenge for me i had to simplify the words and the activities to fit
their ability
I got different feedback and suggestions from my MST such as time management ,
classroom management and i have to raise my voice and be active

What I want to achieve next semester to improve my weakness and use different styles of
teaching,finishing the PDP goals
Trying my best to be better .
