Structure of the Professional Development

Participants- 4 Second Grade Teachers, 1 ELL Teacher, 1 Reading Specialist, 1 Special Education
Teacher
Time- 35-40 minutes per session
Frequency- 1 time a week for 12 weeks
Each week, the second grade team and teachers that service second grade students meet in a
Professional Learning Community. Over the twelve weeks, we will go through three different sets of
four sessions each. The first session of each set will involve a discussion over a relevant article. Then,
we will dive into our practice and workshops. Below is what would be covered in each set.
